 Program Objectives 

The objective of the medical assistant program is to provide you with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits needed to seek an entry-level position as a medical assistant. You will study human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology. The curriculum also includes computer technology and word processing to make you more marketable to employers. This program includes instruction in the following tasks:

  • Clinical procedures
  • Administering injections and drawing blood samples
  • Monitoring vital signs and EKGs
  • Assisting in minor surgical procedures
  • First aid and CPR
  • Basic accounting procedures
  • Charting and documentation

 

 Career Opportunities 

Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete a 160-hour externship program at a medical facility, which may lead to job opportunities when you finish. Graduates of Kaplan Career Institute's Medical Assistant Diploma program can seek entry-level positions in:
